What is CMAT?

The CMAT or Common Management Admission Test is an online entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses in over 1000 B-schools across India. CMAT is conducted in online mode in various cities across India. The duration of the exam is three hours within which the candidates are required to answer 100 questions from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.

  • CMAT 2020 will be held on January 24, 2020
  • CMAT exam date and the schedule was announced by the NTA on August 22, 2019

CMAT Eligibility Criteria Updates

  • The CMAT 2019 aspirant must have completed Graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Final year Graduation students (10+2+3) are also eligible to apply for CMAT, provided their results are declared before commencement of admission for 2019

CMAT Exam Day Guidelines Updates

Candidates appearing for the CMAT 2020 exam must prepare well. Here are some points that you must keep in mind for the exam day:

  • Don’t forget to carry a print out of your CMAT 2020 admit card. Digital, scanned or photocopy of the admit card is not accepted as a valid document.
  • Reach your CMAT exam center 2 hours before the reporting time
  • Do not carry electronic items to the exam venue. You are also advised to not carry valuable items

Along with CMAT 2019 admit card, carry a photo ID as a secondary identity proof. You can carry any of the following documents like your ID proof:

  • Aadhar card
  • PAN card
  • Voter ID card
  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • College/University ID card

CMAT 2020: Test Cities and Exam Centres

CMAT 2020 will be held at multiple centres in about 75 cities in India. The aspirants can choose from the city of their preference to appear in the exam. The option to choose a city of one’s choice will be given to each candidate at the time of filling up the CMAT 2020 application form. Each aspirant can choose four cities as their preferred test city.

A: The CMAT is held once a year in the month of January. The exam is conducted at various exam centres across 75 cities in India. You could choose the test city according to your preference.

Q: Is CMAT conducted online or offline?

A: CMAT exam is conducted online. The candidates need to have a working knowledge of computers to be able to sail through the exam smoothly.

QHow many times can I attempt CMAT?

A. You can attempt CMAT exam any number of times. However, the score of the last CMAT exam will be taken into account at the time of admission.

Q. I have scored less than 50 percent marks in Graduation. Am I eligible to apply for CMAT?

A. Yes, you are eligible to apply for CMAT.

Q. For how long is CMAT score valid for admission to MBA institutes?

A. The validity of the CMAT score is one year. If you miss the academic session in which you appeared for CMAT, you will have to apply for it again next year.
