MAT exam is conducted both as a paper-based test and an online computer-based test. Candidates have the choice of appearing in one of the two modes of exam or in both the exams. MAT exam trends show that MAT in paper-based form is taken by more candidates due to which AIMA conducts paper-based MAT in 51 cities as compared to computer-based test which is conducted in 12 cities across the country.

MAT Exam Updates: Score validity
The MAT December 2019 exam score will be valid for admission in academic session 2020-22. There are 400+ B-schools who will accept MAT 2019 December exam scores. Besides, all the  MBA colleges in Maharashtra including top ones like SIMSREE, PUMBA, N L Dalmiya, K J Somaiya consider MAT scores as one of the admission criteria for their flagship MMS/MBA programs. The list of MAT Colleges accepting MAT score is published by AIMA for each MAT exam separately.

Opportunity to Improve Score
The best part of appearing in each MAT exam is that you can improve your score after every three months. Each MAT exam score is valid for 1 year. The best MAT exam score would be considered to get the merit position during the admission process of the B-school.

MAT December 2019 will be conducted as a national level Management Aptitude Test. The MAT question paper will test the candidates on their general aptitude. Thousands of the aspirants test their skills in MAT entrance exams for admission to MBA/PGDM institutes.

The MAT test paper will have a time duration of 2½ hours. There will be 200 questions in MCQs form in the MAT question paper of December MAT 2019 exam. The exam will be divided into 5 sections with 40 questions in each section. MAT test sections are Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment.

Merit Score in MAT exam is calculated on the basis of 4 sections only and the score of Indian & Global Environment is separately shown but is not taken into account to calculate the merit or percentile in the MAT scorecard.

The MAT college cut-offs go a little high as MAT question paper and MAT scoring pattern award liberal marks to MAT exam takers. The MAT colleges cut-offs, especially among top 20 MAT colleges like – BIMTECH, K J Somaiya, SIMSREE, IESMCRC, FLAME among others, go high as there is a number of top MAT colleges accepting MAT scores and the merit position in top 20 MAT colleges have a little higher cut-offs.
