About All India Civil Services IAS Academy – UPSC Coaching Institute in Chennai
All India Civil Services IAS institute an unit of Anna Institute of Management, functions with the principal goal of promoting the needs of the young aspirants from Tami I Nadu to take up IAS, IPS, IFS etc. The Pre-Examination Training Centre established in the year 1966, to train SC/ST candidates and the Special Training Institute established in the year 1971 for Backward Class and Most Backward Class candidates were merged and renamed as All India Civil Services Coaching Centre i n the year 2000. The new Centre at `Kanchi’, 163/1 P.S. Kumarasamy Raja Salai, R.A. Puram was built in the year 2012 at an estimated cost of Rs.10.14 crores, extending about 50843 sq.ft with 3 floors. Every year 325 aspirants (225 – Residential & 100 Non-Residential) undergo intensive, result-oriented, free-coaching with free boarding and food for Preliminary Examination and 225 candidates for Main Examination conducted by UPSC.
Model Personality sessions are also organized for the candidates who have cleared the Mains Examination to face the UPSC Personality Test board. From 2001 to 2015, 604 candidates from this Institute have taken up various alI India services. The Institute is headed by The Principal, and it functions under the control of the Director and Director General of Training, Anna Institute of Management, Chennai-28.
