TRYST- To Infinity and beyond

TRYSTTo Infinity and beyond, is the annual technical fest of Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) Delhi. It is the largest technical fest of North-India and is generally held in the spring of the year i.e. February or March. It was started in 1992 and the custom follows up till today. This was the 26th edition of the festival and was held for a span of our days from 23rd February to 26th February 2018, with over 45000 footfalls and 50+ Sci-Tech events around the globe. The festival was loaded with amazing events and competitions, Seminars, Workshops, Lectures, Exhibitions, Pronites and much more. Tryst is a non-profit organization which is organized completely by the students. The team and the ‘Core Team Members’ (CTM) which managed Tryst 2018 was divided into various departments like Infrastructure & Workshop, Public Relation Departments, Marketing & Finance Department, Guest Lecture Department, Events Department, Publicity & Creativity Department, Hospitality & Security Department; headed by the Overall Coordinators (OC). It is a monumental platform for those who hold great fidelity and enthusiasm for technology, to evince their adroitness and innovativeness. The basic motive of this festival was to bring the worlds’ headmost scientific minds along with the esteemed technologists, the influential thinkers and connect them to the outstretched audience including students and faculties across India. EVENTS AND PROCEEDINGS

Tryst 2018 was declared open with the Inauguration Ceremony and ribbon cutting in the presence of Representatives of the German Embassy (GIZ) and with the commencement of various Guest Lectures, Departmental Events, Club Events, Flagship Events, Pronites and other Events as well. Students across the globe participated in more than 50+ Sci-Tech Events including Seminars, Workshops, Events and Competitions, Lectures and Exhibitions. These Events & Competitions always motivates the students to enhance their intelligence so that they can create and innovate; especially in the technical world, for a better tomorrow and for the betterment of the society. Other Competitions of Tryst 2018 were Robotics Challenge, International Research Competition, Hack-It, Android Hackathon, Quadcopter Challenge, IOT Challenge, Asgard. The inauguration ceremony of Tryst 2018 was held and managed on Day one, which proceeded to the first activity of the day which was the first Guest Lecture by Mr. Dilbagh Gill– CEO & Team Principle of Mahindra Racing Formula (E Team). The lecture was mainly about the upcoming electronic vehicals, their advantages for everyone and their future. A Guest Lecture by a German Speaker was also held amongst the CES Events.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4775″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The soothing spring morning bought us to the second day of Tryst 2018. The day began with Events like Keynote Social, Safety Workshop which was all about raising voices against women’s safety and harassment issues which lead to bigger crimes (organized by Sashakt– The Social Campaign of Tryst 2018), Quizzing session with Rajib Sanyal and “The Ink On Paper” (The Creative Writing Competition). The Guest Lecture which were held on the second day were with the finest people and they included The American Neuroscientist and Science Communicator- Don Vough and The Career Technology Entrepreneur-Steven Gal. a very special event “WIDS-Women In Data Science” was also held; it consisted of four elements, first of them being The Keynote Speakers in which lectures were given by Anna Roy (Advisor NITI Aayog) and Charulata Ravi Kumar (Director for Digital Marketing Program, S.P. Jain). The second element was The Panel Discussion in which there were Chandni Jain (Founder & CEO, Auquan), Synthhia Srinivas (Engineering Leader, Intuit IDC), Madhushree Dutta (Human Resource Business Partner Intuit ) and Rwitwika Bhattacharya (CEO, Swaniti Initiative). The third element i.e. The Keynote Technical included Sharmila Mande (Chief Scientist & Head-Bio-Science, R&D, TCS), Deepika Nangia (Head of Data Management, RBS) and Gayatri Dutta (Senior Data Scientist at Walmart). The fourth element which was The Women in Tech included Shayoni Dutta (WIDS Ambassador and Data Scientist Bayer), Ajita Jain (Software Engineer, Intuit) and Varsha Agagrwal (Software Professional, Intuit) The goal of WIDS was to motivate women in the field of Data Services and to educate and inspire the data scientists worldwide. These events served as a huge opportunity for networking for tech minds. The other highlights of the day were ICOC de Tryst, Decipher-D-Cipher, CAD Modeling Contest, Logiscape, Computer Science Quiz, and Chemical Case Study. Others in the Departmental Events included Mock Stock, Stratazenith and Glider Design Challenge. Amongst the Club and the Flagship Events were the Electronic Rangoli, Technovation, BUDSON Paper Presentation, Smart City Challenge, Renew EnvironmenD and Robo Soccer & Rescue Rangers. But wait! How could the day end without the special part i.e. The Pronite. The first Pronite of Tryst 2018 IIT Delhi was held with the very famous stand-up comedian and youtuber, Biswa Kalyan Rath. His tremendous performance gave the sense of laughter & liveliness to the audience and certainly they didn’t want him to end. However, the day ended on a very positive and cheerful note.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4776″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Day three of the Tryst 2018 began with the Guest Lectures with Casey Handmer (the Levitation Engineer with Hyperloop One), Yogesh Chabria (founder of the Happionaire), Gaurav Agarwal, “Presentation of the Silicon Valley “by the Udacity, and the Panel Discussion on “The future Blockchain and Crypto Currencies”. The Departmental Events included the Bug Smash, Riddle of the Sphinx, Chem-E-Quiz, Data Science Hackathon, Rocketile and the Cabinet. The day was incomplete without the Club and the Flagship Events which included; Capitalist Conundrum (A strategy based game with ‘Game Theory’ at its soul), NITI Policy Making Competition, Physic & Astro Quiz (Quiz from the world of Astronomy and Physics-ish general knowledge); Technovation, Paper Presentation, Robo Wars & Robo Ta, Chain-It (a rube Goldberg Machine Making Contest), Fake Research, UCL Auction and the IPL Auction. The other events of the day were the Stage Play, Coding Ninja Workshop, British Council Workshop and the Social Case Study Competition. Apart from all these; the most amazing fragment of the day was the Comedy Night (Pronite), with one of the best contemporary artist, an Indian Stand-up Comedian; Abhishek Upmanyu. His humor and jokes certainly lightened the moods of the audience and made them laugh specially after the hectic and knowledgeable sessions of the day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4777″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The last day i.e. 26th February 2018 of Tryst 2018 IIT Delhi finally came, with some more fun stuff and knowledgeable sessions like The Guest Lectures with Kavin Bharti Mittal, The Crypto Panel Discussion, Pinaki Laskar (Founder at FisheyeBox), Robert Metcalfe (Founder of Ethernet), Nitin Gadkari (Current Minister Road, Transport and Highways), some German Speakers in the CES Events and Sonia Srivastava who discussed about the social and economic empowerment of the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of our society. Not only this, but the Departmental Events held were The Cabinet in which the participants had to argue in a debate on civil constructive tender as a cabinet minister; The Conspirators, The Mystery at Hogwarts, Enigma, Quiz-up and others. The events held in the Club Events sector were Enquesto, AirBorne (RC Aircraft) in which the participants showed their skills by designing and fabricating a RC Plane, AOE: Drugs Edition, The Programming Bootcamp by Ankush Singh in the Coding Ninjas Workshop and much more. Flagship Events like the Robottle Flip & Mind Maze were also held with other events like The Civil Smart City and The Quzzing (Murphy’s Law Quiz Contest). CONCLUSION

The festival ended on a comprehending note, with great achievements and new heights. Tryst 2018 gave the audience, the inspiration to grow and to never stop creating anything new for the development of one own self, technology and the society as well. The hard work and the dedication of everyone came out with flying colors as the festival went off smoothly and turned out to be a success; with so much to learn, gain, grow and innovate for the students; and excitement and high hopes for more for the next year, Tryst 2018 IIT Delhi signed off.
