What is Computer Vision?

Computer Vision

One of the most powerful types of artificial intelligence is computer vision which must have almost surely experienced in many ways without even knowing!
Computer Vision is a field that deals with how the devices can gain a high-level understanding of digital images or videos.
In other words, it is a simple way to make a task very easy which a normal human vision can do.
This process of computer vision is dealing with the theory behind systems that try to take info from images.
The image data can take many forms, such as video sequences, views from different cameras, or medical scanning devices.
Computer Vision is used for processing, and understanding the digital images and videos in the surroundings.
Understanding, in this topic, refers to the change of the images.
It also includes video tracking and learning.

Computer vision. How Does It Work?

On a level, Computer vision is all about pattern recognition. One way to train your device on how to understand visual data is to feed it with thousands of images. Later, subject those to various algorithms, that allows the computer to find out the patterns in all the elements that relate to those labels.
For instance, if you feed your computer device, a million images of cats, it will subject them all to algorithms that let them observe the colors in the photo. And also the shapes, the distances between the shapes, where objects border each other so that it identifies a profile of what exactly a cat means. When it is done, the computer will be able to use its experience to find the ones that are of a cat.

3 Steps for Facial recognition!

  • Create a database:
Capture individual images of all the subjects you want to track in a respective format.
  • Annotate images:
Then for every individual image, you have to enter the key data points, such as distance between the eyes. Also, the width of the nose bridge, and so on that define the unique features of each person.
  • Capture new images:
Later, you would have to capture new images, whether from photos or any of the video content. And then go through the measurement process again, marking the points on the image.
These are the three steps for face recognition in computer vision.
