What is NEET Exam?

The National Eligibility Admission Test, originally known as the All India Pre-Medical Test, is the entrance test for the MBBS and BDS program at Indian medical and dental institutions (AIPMT). It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The National Eligibility and Entrance Test, or NEET, is the only exam that will be taken into account for filling approximately 54,000 medical seats nationwide.

According to the Supreme Court’s 2016 ruling, NEET would be the only exam used to fill both the All India Quota Seats and the State Level Quota Seats nationwide. The test is also acceptable for filling seats at private colleges around the nation.

The National Eligibility Completion Entrance Test for the 2018 Graduate Examination will be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The test was given by the Central Board of Secondary Education in front of NTA, a reputable testing company that is independent, autonomous, and self-sufficient (CBSE).Every year in May, the exam, which offers 90,000 seats in MBBS and BDS Colleges in India, is held.

Candidates who want to pursue medical programs must have completed and passed the compulsory subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology in classes 10 and 12. At the time of the exam, candidates must present their passing certificate. The NEET-undergraduate test does not consider mathematics grades (NEET-UG).

In addition to undergraduate programs, NTA also conducts the eligibility-plus-ranking NEET post-graduation (NEET-PG), which is the only entrance exam required for enrollment in these MD/MS and PG diploma programs.

In addition to English, Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Marathi, Urdu, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, and Assamese, the NEET test is given online. It takes three hours for a candidate to finish the 180-question test. The exam has three divisions: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

NTA announces the counseling process along with the NEET results. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) website posts the NEET counseling schedule.

NEET, What Does It Mean?

It is a single-level national exam given to applicants seeking admission to medical programs at the nation’s various medical institutions. As of 2020, the exam will be the only medical entrance exam required for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER institutions, replacing the existing system of several entrance exams administered at the state level.

As part of the One Nation One Examination strategy, the Indian government introduced National Eligibility Admission Testas a proposal to replace several exams with a single exam. The only UG-level medical entrance exam to use this format is NEET; an offline test administered using pen and paper.
