The Indian Institutes of Technology are the most prestigious engineering and technological institutes in India. Millions of students dream to get admission into one of the IITs. But IIT Joint Entrance Exam is difficult and highly competitive, so not everyone can clear the exam. Hence, a lot fail to get into IIT via JEE.  But there are some courses in IITs, which do not require cracking JEE for admission. There are various other entrance exams other than JEE, which candidates can clear to get admission into an IIT.

IIT JAM- Joint Admission Test:

It is an important exam for admission to IIT and IISc Bangalore. Admission to Post Graduation (master’s) can be obtained through this examination. Admission to MSc, Masters in Economics, MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD dual degree, and other post-graduate programs is also possible.

GATE- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering:

If you miss the opportunity to get into IIT after the 12th, the GATE exam gives you the opportunity to get into IIT for post-graduation. If you crack the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, you get a chance to do M.Tech from IIT. 

UCEED – Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design:

Students preparing for graduation who have an interest in design can take this route. First, you have to pass 12th, then apply for the UCEED exam. The entrance exam is divided into two parts. It includes design, drawing, reasoning, and language. Post-graduation aspirants have to appear for CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) exam.

HSEE- Humanity and Social Science Entrance Exam:

Integrated MA (Master of Arts) course in Humanities and Social Science field of five years duration is available at IIT. Of course, admission to this course also takes place through the entrance exam. For the first two years, the curriculum is the same for all. The course is then divided into two different streams. This division is based on the performance of the students in the initial semester and on the basis of available seats.

CAT- Common Admission Test:

IITs themselves decided to change the perception that engineering is the only admission in IITs and started MBA courses as well. The CAT exam is the responsibility of IIMs. But with the help of this scorecard, you can also do MBA from IIT. Each IIT has its own rules for admission to management schools. But generally, CAT passers get admission through interviews and merit lists.

Admission for Short-Term Courses:

There are various short-term certificate courses one can pursue from IIT. One can then pursue courses like cyber security, digital marketing, internet programming, civil engineering, space flight mechanics, and various other courses.
