Can We Get Admission to IIT Through JEE Mains

If you want to Get Admission to IIT Through JEE Mains Joint Entrance Exam or JEE is a national-level exam that is conducted for admissions to various engineering colleges in India. It is conducted by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority. It is the exam one has to give to get into any of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology, the most prestigious engineering colleges of India. JEE consists of two levels – JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is the first level of the exam. So, can we get admission in IIT just by clearing JEE Mains? Well, no. To get into IIT, you’ll have to clear both JEE Main and JEE Advanced. There’s no way you can get into IIT by just clearing. In JEE Main, you’ll have to earn a rank under the top 250,000 to qualify for the JEE Advanced. The preferred JEE main score is 250 or higher which will qualify you for the next exam. And then you’ll have to get a good enough rank in JEE Advanced to end up in an IIT. 

JEE Main scores are not restricted to IITs only. They are also important if one to get admission into the 31 National Institutes of Technology, 25 Indian Institutes of Information Technology, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes. One will have to score marks depending on what college they want to get admission into. A higher score is required for admission to one of the NITs, than one of the best IIITs.  Many other institutes like the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, and the Indian Institute of Science, which use the score obtained in the JEE-Advanced examination as the basis for admission. 

JEE Main also offer admissions in various B.Arch and B.Planning courses.
