The IPS officers are trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy and hold senior positions in various law enforcement agencies. The IFS officers, on the other hand, are in charge of India’s international affairs and can pursue careers as ambassadors or high commissioners.

There are also several Group ‘A’ civil services, such as the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), and Indian Information Service (IIS), to name a few. Each of these services has its own specific responsibilities and functions and is overseen by different ministries or departments.

The Indian civil services also provide equal opportunities for women. There have been many inspiring female officers who have made significant contributions to the country.
